Tennis in the United States is played on three kinds of places: public park courts run by a city or county, member clubs and country clubs with their own pros and leagues, and commercial tennis centers that sell court time by the hour. Public courts are usually free and first come, first served, with a posted limit (often 60-90 minutes when others are waiting); busier cities run online reservation systems with a small fee and a permit for the season. Indoor courts are rented by the hour and booked days ahead in winter. Most facilities are hard courts; clay is common in the Southeast and at private clubs, and grass is rare. Lights extend play into the evening at many parks, sometimes with a coin or app-operated switch.

Ypsilanti is in Michigan, in the Midwest, where summers are warm, winters are cold and snowy, and most errands are done by car; businesses keep steady year-round hours with the usual holiday changes. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Ypsilanti follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. While the facilities themselves were nice, the service was terrible. For paying almost $400 for one night I would have expected a little more common sense from the staff. I was woken up 3 times before check out which was extremely frustrating. We had a late night and were planning on taking a nap after breakfast until check out, to recover. We also arranged with the front desk a noon check out, which was the perfect amount of time to nap. At around 9am, cleaning staff barged into the room waking us. Then the cleaning staff came back right at 11 and banged on the door. I told them I had a late checkout. Shortly after, the phone in the room rang from the front desk. Apparently the late check out was not communicated. Being startled over 3 times in the morning while trying to catch up on rest was infuriating. On top of that, the breakfast was terrible. For $50 (2 people) we got the equivalent of high school cafeteria quality options, and staff that didn't seem to enjoy being bothered for basic breakfast things like toast or milk. It was such an odd experience. I regret spending a dime on this place and will probably stick to Hilton from now on.

We recently got married this June and utilzed the hotel for ceremony, reception, and hotel stay for guests. We truly cannot say enough good things. From the views to the food and exceptional service, everything was perfect! Planning process from start to finish was amazing! Shout out to Spencer!!! The hotel accommodations and room block worked perfectly for our out-of-town guests, and many of our family and friends enjoyed the golf course and beautiful property throughout the weekend. We would choose Eagle Crest again in a heartbeat.
